From National Strategy to Community Engagement Body Text:
We have a strong track record of supporting critical peace and stabilization projects in Somalia, working with a range of international partners and national stakeholders.
- Developing Nexus Consortium’s Peacebuilding Strategy:
GCC played a pivotal role in shaping the Nexus Consortium’s large-scale activities. We conducted comprehensive needs assessments and held extensive consultation sessions with the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS), Federal Member States (FMS), and various NGOs to inform and contribute to the consortium’s peacebuilding strategy. - Analysis for Saferworld’s “Addressing Root Causes of Conflict” (ARC) Project:
For Saferworld International, we undertook a significant macro data analysis and reporting project. Our team engaged directly with communities in the Lower Juba (Kismayo), Bay, and Benadir (Mogadishu) regions to identify and address the root causes of conflict, focusing on establishing mechanisms for local community engagement and integration.
- Detainee & Detention Center Conditions Report (for Saferworld):
With support from the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we conducted a comprehensive assessment for Saferworld on the conditions of detainees and detention centers in Somalia. This report provided crucial analysis and recommendations for improving human rights standards and accountability within the justice system.
Training Manual for Election Conflict Resolution (for EISA):
As part of an EU-funded project for the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA), Galayr Consultancy developed a specialized training manual focused on election-related conflict resolution. This manual equipped stakeholders with the tools and methodologies to prevent and mitigate electoral violence, promoting a more peaceful democratic process.
